The Flying Horse pub will be boosted by redevelopment. The area around the pub is being turned into luxury accommodation and retail space.

 

Scaffolding has already gone up in the Finsbury Square corner but the pub itself is not being touched. Manager Andrew Bryce is thrilled; he is convinced the redevelopment will help boost business for his pub.

 

“If anything, the guys working on the build will probably come in and drink after work. It is going to increase trade”

 

Andy Yates, a regular, is pleased to know his pub is safe from harm,

 

“I’ve been coming into the Flying Horse for more years than I care to remember. We’re delighted that the pub’s isn’t being touched. It’s a great local in the city.”

 

The pub is grade II listed which protects it from any development.

 

“I think the regulars would all chain themselves to the bar if anyone tried to knock it down,” said Andrew Bryce.
